Cost guide · Sydney

What it costs, before you call.

Most relining companies will not print a price. We do. Here is the rate card we quote from, the maths behind it, and a calculator that reproduces our worked examples. Bring these numbers to any quote you get, including ours.

The rate card

Every number, in the open.

Relining is a setup cost plus a rate per metre. Junctions and patches are priced on their own. These are real, market derived Sydney figures.

Service Setup / rate Per metre / unit
Full line reline, 100mm Standard residential sewer and stormwater $2,500 setup $450 / metre
Full line reline, 150mm Larger mains and shared lines $2,600 setup $550 / metre
Junction repair Reinstating a branch connection $650 (100mm) $750 (150mm)
Patch repair Single localised fault, no full line from $2,500 per patch

All figures ex GST. Confirmed against a CCTV survey before any work begins.

Pipe diameter

Most house sewers are 100mm. The camera measures the bore, so nobody pays 150mm rates for a 100mm pipe.

10m

Every branch that joins the relined section: $650 each at 100mm, $750 at 150mm. The survey counts them on camera.

Estimated price, ex GST
$7,000
On site, typically $7,000 to $8,050
Setup$2,500
Structural liner$4,500
Junction repairs (0)$0

An estimate, not a quote. Access, depth and pipe condition move the final figure. We confirm it against a CCTV survey, and you keep the footage.

Worked examples, 100mm, no junctions: 5m is $4,750 · 10m is $7,000 · 15m is $9,250. The calculator reproduces these exactly.

What moves the price

Four things, and none of them are a surprise.

01

Access: how we reach the pipe

A clear inspection point close to the fault is cheap to work from. A line under a slab, or one reached through a single small opening, takes longer to set up.

02

Depth: how far down it runs

Relining does not need a trench, but a deep line needs more time on the crawler and the winch. Depth is why two ten metre jobs can price differently.

03

Junctions: how many branches join in

Every branch connection along the relined section is cut back open and sealed. Each one is a fixed line on the quote: $650 at 100mm, $750 at 150mm.

04

Patch or full line: how much pipe is failing

One isolated crack is a patch. A line cracked or root invaded end to end is a full reline. The camera tells us which before we quote.

Patch or full line

The honest range.

Patch repair

$2,500 to $5,000

For a single localised fault. We reline a short section over the crack or displaced joint and leave the sound pipe alone. Fast, targeted, and the right call when only one spot has failed.

Full line reline

$5,000 to $15,000+

For a line failing along its length. We reline the whole run as one seamless structural pipe. The figure scales with length, diameter and junction count, which is exactly what the calculator above works out.

Across the Sydney market, a typical 10m job lands between $5,500 and $7,500. Our rate card puts a 10m 100mm reline at $7,000, inside that range and printed where you can see it.
Cost questions

What people ask about the price.

What does pipe relining cost in Sydney?
Setup $2,500 plus $450 per metre at 100mm, from the rate card on this page. Worked examples with no junctions: 5m is about $4,750, 10m is about $7,000, 15m is about $9,250. Across the Sydney market a typical 10m job lands between $5,500 and $7,500, and our $7,000 sits inside that band, printed where you can see it.
Why do relining quotes vary so much between companies?
Because most companies price job by job, with nothing published to check the number against. Length, diameter, junction count and access genuinely move the price; the rest of the spread is opacity. Ask any quote to break into setup, a per metre rate and a per junction line, then compare it against this card.
Is relining cheaper than digging the pipe up?
Usually, once you price everything excavation touches: the trench, the landscaping, the driveway, the reinstatement, and days instead of hours. On a like for like line the reline is typically comparable or cheaper before you count the garden, and clearly ahead after.
Is the calculator figure a quote?
No. It is the rate card applied to the numbers you enter, which is exactly how we build the real quote. The difference is the CCTV survey: it measures the true metres, counts the junctions and confirms the bore size. The figure is then fixed in writing before work starts.
Are these prices ex GST?
Yes, all figures on this page are ex GST, matching how the trade quotes. Your written quote shows the GST inclusive total before you approve anything.

Start with the camera.

A CCTV survey turns every one of these estimates into a fixed number. We show you the fault, quote from this rate card, and you decide.
